Aunt Ruth was an amazing lady and always greeted you with a smile and us kids a big hug. I have the fondest memories as a child going to see her and my cousins. she always baked something yummy! I remember her always wearing an apron and smelling so good. I will cherish all the memories.

Thank you Mom for sharing your faith in Jesus with me. You didn't ever pressure me. You offered an alternative to staying home on Sundays by attending church with you. Many children are not raised in homes where they have a mother and a father let alone the parents love their children enough to provide consistent discipline. I formulated my outlook on life based upon my childhood experiences. You made childhood easy for all of us. Each of your children chose their own path which may not have been the choice you would have made, but you loved us through it all and supported us as well. Your love and support continued throughout your life. You touched many hearts. You taught me the value of volunteering time to the community as health would allow. There are so many things about your life that will carry on into future generations because of how you chose to live your life. I love you and I miss you Mom. I look forward to the day when I get to go home with Jesus and see you once again.

As I read Crazy Love by Francis Chan, Ruth is the epitome of that pure love for Christ in both words and deeds. A true inspiration of Christianity in action.

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that Day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing.
—2 Timothy 4:7–8”

My mother...if you knew the history of my younger years, then you would know that those two words alone HAD to make her a woman of great faith...she faced down the U.S. Navy on my behalf when I was 'lost' and forced them to bring me home from a special operation assignment in a different part of the world...I will never forget the tenacity she had for her children, and the faithful prayer warrior she was, even unto the very end. As the Guardian song says, "I'll see you in Heaven." So, mom, I will always love you, and I will see you in Heaven, and we will rejoice for the rest of eternity!

I met Ruth at Laurel Baptist Church in Salinas. I was a young Christian and Ruth was always a source of advice and encouragement. I am sorry it has been so long since I last saw her but I look forward to seeing her again when this life is past.

I remember when I first met Grandma Ruth, she always seemed how to find the good in everybody. Her words and life mirrored what Christ did. A Godly legacy is what she left behind, countless lives were impacted by her faithfulness. I know Christ has a good servant by his side now in heaven. A picture of love, joy and peace is the best way to describe her.

Ruth always had a smile on her face when I was around her. She was a verry positive person and no matter what mood you were in when you were around her she always managed to cheer me up. God bless you Ruth.

I remember Ruth Wernick when my husband and I were members at Laurel Baptist Church, Salinas as a wonderful, caring but firm woman. She really impressed me during the children's church times. We were serving food to the kids and some boys threw their food away. Ruth firmly but kindly told them in no uncertain terms, that they were not to waste the food! I just have really warm memories of Ruth! She is someone that I really admired!

I will always remember Ruth and her smile at First Southern Baptist Church in Red Bluff. Her faith in God was an inspiration to me. Anyone who has spent last days with her has to know that there is a Heaven and that is where she is. She finally is Face To Face With God her dear Savior.

We will see you again my precious Grandma Ruth! If it weren't for her, I wouldn't be saved. Her faithful prayers have shown me the power in prayer and what it means to be a prayer warrior! I pray I live my life even half as well as she lived hers!
