It's been two weeks and two days! I still can't believe you are gone, I keep waiting to wake up. You will NEVER be forgotten my beautiful best friend!!! I love and miss you with all my heart. Not one minute goes by of everyday that I don't think about you and look back at the 36 years of hearing your laughter, your advice, the fun we had when we were younger and just being there for each other no matter how far apart we lived. You gave me precious memories to hold onto forever. I will definitely cherish those until were reunited again my friend.

Vern was the youngest of the gaggle of Klein and Castagna kids. We all basically grew up together like brothers and sisters. Vern, or VJ as we called him, was a bringer of cheer to his family and friends. A sweeter person there never was. We will miss him.

Vern was a friend, co-worker, and emt who lived in Pioneer, CA and came to my help when my home was struck by lightning and another time when I had an auto accident. He was caring and compassionate and as a co-worker was oh so funny. I will always remember your mischevious smile and kindness. Go my friend, and receive your well earned reward. Fly with the angels and always remember you will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to call you friend.

For one thing Vern and I spoke on the phone almost every other day. He gave me so much support, love, and laughter I just keep repeating his phone number in my mind. Our Moms were the very closest of Sisters and our families lived together many times. Vern is only a few months older than my youngest Daughter and they were playmates during their childhood. He was my cousin, my brother, and my kid all rolled into one loving body
