Carla Krause Obituary

February 02, 1935 - July 14, 2017
Carla Helene Krause was born in Monroe, Wisconsin, on February 2, 1935 and passed away peacefully on July 14, 2017, in the home she loved in Redlands with her husband, Richard Krause, by her side.

She was the matriarch of her loving family and will be deeply missed by all those whose lives she touched.

She will be remembered as an avid reader, a world traveler, a gardener, camper, golfer, tennis player and a beach lover.

Carla always had a thirst for knowledge and needed to know the ""who, what, where, when and why"" of it all.

She was a member of The First Evangelical Lutheran Church of Redlands, where she was an Altar Guild volunteer. She also volunteered for the Redlands Historical Society, where she gave heritage tours to school children, sharing her love of her community. In addition, she volunteered for Meals on Wheels and was a 40-plus gallon donor for the San Bernardino Blood Bank.

Carla had four children: Kurt, Karl, Vicki and Kathy. She was somehow able to raise her children and attend college at California State University, San Bernardino, where she received an English degree. She also obtained a degree in Geology from The University of Redlands. Carla worked as a Speech Therapist for the school system for several years.

She is survived by her husband, Richard, son Karl (Ellie), daughter Kathy Olivares (Alberto), grandchildren Carly Krause, Kevin Krause and Margo Gregor (Sean Watson), and nieces Jill Whelan, Amy Knight and nephew Jeff Regez and their families. She is preceded in death by her daughter Vicki and her son Kurt.

Services will be held on Tuesday, July 25, at 11:00 a.m. at The First Evangelical Lutheran Church of Redlands on 1207 West Cypress Avenue. Reception to follow at the church's Fellowship Hall.

I was looking up Kurt and found this. Kurt was my roommate at SDSU for one semester. I was saddened to read that he passed. He was a great guy.

I am very sorry for your lost. I can imagine how heartbreaking it is to lose a loved one, but its uplifting to know that God promises us in Isaiah 65:17 a near future in which not only we wont feel this horrid pain in our hearts when we lose a loved one, but we wont even remember how it felt.
