MONIQUE GODELIEVE OLHAUSEN Monique Godelieve Olhausen, 67, of Willmar passed away Sunday, March 5, 2023, at CentraCare St. Cloud Hospital surrounded by her family after a brief battle with cancer. Funeral Services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 13, 2023, at Redwood Valley Funeral Home in Redwood Falls and was livestreamed on St. Catherine's Catholic Church YouTube Page. Visitation was from 9:30-11 a.m. Monday, March 13 at the funeral home. Interment was in St. Catherine's Catholic Cemetery in Redwood Falls. Monique Godelieve (Samyn) Olhausen was born January 2, 1956, to George and Yvonne (Deleye) Samyn in Tracy. She graduated from Wabasso High School in 1974. Monique married Mark Heiling shortly after high school and together they continued their education at Alexandria Technical & Community College where Monique received her degree in office assistance. On October 5, 1984, Monique married Jim Olhausen in Willmar. Together they owned and operated wildlife art galleries in Grand Rapids and Willmar for several years. Later the couple started Olhausen Realty and continued to do custom framing in their home. Monique loved the outdoors including fishing, gardening and camping. She loved to reminisce with family and friends and to visit the farm whenever possible. Her other great love was football and the Minnesota Vikings in which she never missed a game. She was an avid fan of all sports and loved attending sporting events of her nieces and nephews. Monique also had a special talent for writing poems, especially for special occasions. Family was most important to Monique as well as her pets. Monique will be sadly missed and will live in our hearts forever. Monique will be missed by her siblings: Ag (Phil) Johanneck, Cec (Roger) Hebeisen, Joel (Jolene) Samyn and Molly (Dave) Andresen; also grieving her loss are her special friend, Ron Miller; nine nieces and nephews; 20 great-nieces and -nephews; extended family in Belgium; and her new dog Rocco. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Jim, nephew Andy, brother-in-law Bob and beloved pets Rambo, Toby and Cooper. Memorials are preferred to the Humane Society or American Cancer Society.
