Richard Scott Sjerven It is with profound sadness the family of Richard Scott Sjerven announces his passing on Monday, August 29, 2022; he was "loved by all." A few weeks ago, Rich told me he was going to write his own obituary because he didn't want his to have all the usual stuff in it. But he didn't get to it, and now I'm not sure what to write for him, so this will be short. If you knew Rich, you probably loved him. He was kind, funny, supportive, and wanted everyone to be their best. At work he appreciated everyone who gave him opportunities to be successful, and paid it forward by bringing others up along with him. He told great stories and was always quick with a sarcastic or witty comment to make you laugh. He loved his family and friends, and we will all feel the void of his absence in our lives - he was particularly sad that he wasn't going to be around for the current and future grandkids. I will miss the camping trips, walks in the woods, nights at the cabin, and traveling to new places or just sitting around doing nothing together. I am so grateful that I got to spend 20 amazing years with the best person I've ever known. Rich did not want a memorial service, because he didn't want everyone to sit around being sad. He said once a long time ago that he wanted a party with elephant rides.
