Dr. Roger Earl Patten, 78, of Litchfield, Minnesota, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on August 28, 2025. He was born on April 13, 1947, in Redwood Falls to Earl Albert Patten and Lorraine Mae (Johnson) Patten. Roger graduated from Redwood Falls High School in 1965. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1967 to 1971, stationed in England and Italy. Following his service, he attended St. Cloud State University, where he met the love of his life, Ann Sikkink. The two were married on June 23, 1973, beginning 52 wonderful years together. In September 1973, Roger and Ann moved to St. Louis, Missouri, where he pursued his degree at Logan College of Chiropractic. After graduating in August 1976 as a Doctor of Chiropractic, they returned to Redwood Falls, where Roger joined the Lee-Fuhr Chiropractic Clinic. On April 1, 1980, he fulfilled his dream of opening his own practice, Patten Chiropractic Center, in Litchfield. Roger dedicated nearly four decades to caring for his patients before retiring in 2015. Outside of work, Roger found joy in life's simple pleasures traveling, fishing trips, golfing, and relaxing on pontoon rides on Lake Minnie Belle. He was happiest when watching his four children and 12 grandchildren compete in their sports and activities. A lifelong fan, Roger cheered faithfully for the Minnesota Vikings and the Golden Gophers. Roger is survived by his loving wife, Ann: his children, Angela and Erik Drange of Shoreview and their children Jack, Ellie, and Julia; Chris and Annie Patten of Litchfield and their children Molly, Edward, Vincent, and Jane; Mike and Lori Patten of Sarasota, Fla., and their children Noah and Jacob; and Joe and Callie Patten of Sartell and their children Henry, Claire, and Thomas. He is also survived by his sisters, Jan (Bill) Maher of Hutchinson, and Barb Bestick of St. Cloud; sister-in-law, Polly (Jim) Harstad of Harmony; brother-in-law, Randy Sikkink of Rochester; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, his in-laws, Roger and Marjorie Sikkink; and his brothers-in-law, Jim Bestick and Jim Sikkink. Roger will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose steady presence and caring nature touched the lives of many. His legacy of love, laughter, and dedication will live on through his family and all who knew him. Arrangements by Dobratz-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Hutchinson.
