Alma Herring Obituary

STOKES - Mrs. Alma Bland Herring, 88, died Saturday, Jan. 22, 2011.
Funeral 2 p.m. today at the Farmer Funeral Chapel in Ayden, officiated by Don Zimmerman. Burial in Fairview Cemetery, La Grange. Visitation was held Sunday evening at the funeral home, but is welcomed other times at 755 Hardy Road, Greenville.
Mrs. Herring attended New Hope Church of God. She was employed by MYA before World War II. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Lee Herring, in 1985.
Survivors include three daughters, Geraldine Manning and husband, Wilbur, of Greenville, Brenda Letchworth of Greenville and Linda Harrell and husband, Tim, of Stokes; two sons, Linwood Ray Herring and wife, Trudy, of Stokes and Kelvin Herring of Greenville; two brothers, James Bland and wife, Mary, of Greenville and David Bland and wife, Louise, of Gold Point; two sisters, Allie Edmundson of Greenville and Doris Smith of Florence, S.C.; 14 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.

Enjoyed the times I used to see your mom out in the yard and singing away....Geraldine, I know that you and Wilbur did everything you guys could do. You were good caregivers......May your mother be present with Christ.. May God comfort your entire family.....
