Bryan Jarvis Obituary

Bryan Erich Jarvis Greenville - Bryan Erich Jarvis, 62, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, April 25, 2024. A memorial service will be held Sunday, May 5, 2024 at 4:00 PM in the Wilkerson Funeral Chapel, officiated by his pastor, Rev. Phillip Boykin. The family will receive friends Sunday prior to the service from 2:30 until 3:45 PM at the funeral home. Private interment will be held at Pinewood Memorial Park. Bryan was born in Portsmouth, VA and lived most of his early life in the Swan Quarter community of Hyde County. After graduating from Mattamuskeet High School in 1979, he moved to Greenville to attend Pitt Community College. He obtained HVAC licensure and worked for General Heating, Inc. for many years until establishing his own business, JarvisCo Heating and Air Conditioning. Throughout his career, Bryan met many customers that he greatly valued and enjoyed serving. He also taught HVAC classes at Pitt Community College for several years. He married his wife, Susan on June 1, 1986 and they made their home at Hudson's Crossroads. He loved to hunt, fish, share his memories of growing up in Hyde County with his friends and time spent with his beloved dog, Rudy. During his later years, his health challenges became great but Bryan remained positive. He accepted Jesus as his Savior on March 20, 2024 and we can now celebrate a completely restored and healed body as promised by our Heavenly Father. Bryan was preceded in death by his father, Foster Linwood Jarvis and father-in-law, Lenwood Fred (Buddy) Hudson. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Susan Hudson Jarvis; mother, Frieda Muller Jarvis; sisters, Helga Jarvis of Winterville and Barbara Jarvis Brooks of Swan Quarter; brothers, Ronald Jarvis of Columbia, NC and Roger Jarvis and wife, Karla, of Hatteras; mother-in-law, Doris Jean Hudson of Greenville; brother-in-law, Joe Hudson and wife, Louise, of Statesville, sister-in-law, Patsy Swain and husband, Jimmy of Washington; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
