Emerald Thessin Obituary

HERTFORD - Mrs. Emerald Lee Byrum Proctor Thessin, 70, died Saturday, June 23, 2012.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Austin Cemetery in Kitty Hawk.
Mrs. Thessin was born in Chowan County to the late Hercules and Katherine Godfrey Byrum. She was the wife of the late Robert Paul Thessin. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her stepmother, Gracie Howell Byrum; and her stepbrother, R.A. Howell.
She is survived by a daughter, Darlene Twine and husband, Milford "Buddy/Moose," of Hertford; two sons, Thomas Wesley Proctor and Ralph Proctor and wife, Lourie, all of Winterville; two sisters, Kay Councill of Gates County and Fay Allen of Virginia; two brothers, Wayne Byrum and wife, Kaye, of Gates and L.H. Byrum and wife, Pat, of Suffolk, Va.; three stepsisters, Joan Russell and husband, Frank, of Sunbury, Rita Lane and husband, Roger, of Gates and Vernadette Buck and husband, Joe, of Gates; and four grandchildren, Cpl. William Proctor and Oliver Proctor, both of Winterville ,and Casey Twine and Katelyn Twine, both of Greenville.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7-8 p.m. at Twiford Funeral Homes in Elizabeth City and other times at the home of Darlene Twine, 257 Red Banks Road, Hertford.
Funeral arrangements are by Twiford Funeral Homes, Elizabeth City.
