I am so sorry to hear Jessie's passing.....I met her at my favorite shoe store "Saturday"s", my cousin called me and asked me if I knew she passed. Of coarse not, I last saw Jessie at the store New Year's Eve. I will miss seeing her lovely smile and stylish dressing self. I pray the family will cherish her memories. I didn't know her outside of the store, but I can say she was very nice and patiet esp. when I came into the store with my five little people.

I just learned of Jessie's passing yesterday and I was stunned to the core. Jessie was one sweet, sweet spirit, and I thought the world of her. I'm sorry I was not able to join the others from the class of 1979 to honor Jessie. Jessie knew my Daddy well from his visits to the ABC store (oh well). She shared her love of books and reading with my Mama, only wanting her to return the hard backs. Jessie, I'm sorry we lost touch. I thought the world of you. Repetitive, but true.

It was wonderful to have met Jessie. I only met her once but it was a lasting impression. Sharing her faith in Jesus was no problem to her. She was full of smiles and joy the very day I met her. She really loved meeting people. I would describe her as being a precious jewel.

Ms. Jesse has an infectious personality! We shared many days in the hair salon at UneeK when Tina was doing her hair! She taught me small lessons of life like how to laugh again, how to let go when your daughter goes off to college, how to restrain yourself when the son that looks like you gets married, how to throw down at Mrs. Cat's kitchen, how to dance in heels & be lady like, how to love my children---(she loves her children) and how to embrace change when it comes to marriage & divorce. We shared the mission of losing weight and most of all loving ourselves! She will be missed dearly! Be encouraged---We will Remember her smile, lively laugh and her love for the good life! Love, Monique Mabry Greenville, NC

R.I.P. Cousin Jessie. You are gone to a better place where you don't have to worry. I'm glad that you were able to make a mark in my life. You always had a friendly personality. I enjoyed being in your presence and just getting the chance to know your daughter Alicia, sons Antwan and Mark. You always said that you were happy to have my grandma as your own. She loves you just as much as you loved her. She will miss you because you have such a sweet spirit. I feel as though your life was very meanful and you let your light shine through. You definitely represented your father above. Take your rest. Love and miss you so much. To the Short family, I pray that God will help guide you in the right path and use her life as an example to how your life should be lived. You don't have to weep anymore for she is ok. Please just know that every moment that you spend with your family is essential.

I have known Jessie for around 8 years. We always talked long, late nights on the phone. She was always blessing others with different things. She was always adored and admired by me and she was a dear friend. She has left a impact on my life and a lot of good memories. The wisdom she had was awesome she always wanted to please and help others through her experiences. To make sure they would go down the wrong path. She said that one date she would be able to help others with their marital problems and relationships, and she said God told her not to settle for less or just anything. I will cherish every moment we did spend together, and pray that all her family will be blessed and encouraged from this day forth. Jessie lived her life to the fullest and the best way she know how and I believe that with all my heart. God bless her three children and all of her family. Rita Futrell

To Janice, Darlene & family and to Sonya from the Saturday's family, I pray for strength as you go through this shocking season. I called Jessie or Sonya "My Personal Shoe Lady." Jessie always wanted you to look good and get excited about something she was showing you and she got the biggest kick out of making me laugh as she told others of my shoe passion. This was something that she just enjoyed. She would always break into this big grin & laughter as we greeted each other knowing that I have this obsession for shoes. It gave her the greatest joy to see me just "ooh" and "aah" as she would show me a pair that she thought look better than the previous one. I shall forever keep all of you in my thoughts and prayers because I too truly have loss a jewel but God was ready for her to come home!!! Jackie Cannon (Known as Romone's Mother)

To my family,
There are no words to say that will make this easy. As you travel this road which seems like a never ending one, know that God has each of you. There is no pain that Jesus can't feel no hurt that He cannot heal, for all things work according to His plan. We don't ask why, we just say we don't understand.. God makes no mistakes, He just saw that a beautiful rose was ready for picking to place in His glorious garden. Reesie will live in our hearts forever.. Gone too soon but not forgotten.
