Linda Pope Obituary
GREENVILLE - Linda Mercer Pope, 78, daughter of the late Johnny & Helen Rivers Mercer, passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2019.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday at 4 PM in the Wilkerson Funeral Chapel. Burial will be private.
Mrs. Pope was a native of Wilson County and was a part of the first graduating class of Ralph L. Fike High School in 1959. After graduation, she attended Atlantic Christian College. For a number of years, she was employed with the Brody School of Medicine. Linda was a creative and adventurous individual who enjoyed painting and traveling.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Bill Pope.
She is survived by her son, Will Pope and wife, Stephanie, of Ayden; daughter, Denise Wilson of Charlotte; sister, Susan Pierce of Wilson; 2 brothers, Billy Mercer and wife, Ernestine, of Elm City, and Dickie Pierce and wife, Therese, of Wilson; 3 grandchildren, Anna Marie Pope of Ayden and Tanner & Alex Wilson, both of Charlotte; and 4 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends following the service.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making memorial contributions to Christ Covenant School Building Fund (746 Worthington Road, Winterville, NC 28590), where her granddaughter attends, as the school was very dear to Linda's heart.

Will, Denise and family members: It was with much sorry to learn of your mother's passing. She was a very dear longtime friend. Our love and prayers go out to all of you. We will miss her sorely and know that you will too.
