Violet Wooten Obituary

Mrs. Violet Williams Wooten, 83, of 102 Singletree Drive died Sunday, Dec. 24, 2006 at Pitt Memorial Hospital in Greenville. Funeral service will be held Saturday at noon at Community Christian Church located in Greenville with the Rev. James Corbett officiating. Burial will follow in Homestead Memorial Gardens in Greenville. Mrs. Wooten was a native of Pitt County for nearly all of her life of 83 years. She attended the public schools and was employed and raised her family here in the Pitt County area. She is survived by three daughters, Lucille Forbes and Felicia Graham, both of Jamaica, N.Y., and Jackie Wooten Rodgers of Greenville; four sons, Billy Wooten, Shelton Wooten, and Gary Wooten, all of Greenville, and Raymond Wooten of Butner; 22 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a special cousin, Bernice Shelly of Greenville; and a host of other cousins, relatives, and friends. There will be a walk through viewing for Mrs. Wooten on Friday from 2 until 7 p.m. at Mitchell's Funeral Home. Professional arrangements by Mitchell's Funeral Home, Greenville.
