Vivian Guy Obituary
The funeral service will be conducted Monday at 3:30 p.m. in the Wilkerson Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Pinewood Memorial Park.
Mrs. Guy was born Oct. 7, 1922, in Comfort, N.C., to the late Laura Joyner and James Randolph Simmons. She was a native of Jones County and spent her younger years in Craven County. For the past 50 years, she had been a resident of Grifton. She was a member of the Grifton United Methodist Church and enjoyed singing in the choir. Her special interests were gardening, flowers and doing puzzles.
She was preceded in death by her son, Harley Franklin Guy; sisters, Charlotte McLawhorn and Ruby Simmons; and brother, Mark Simmons.
She is survived by her daughter, Vivian Boswell and her husband Alfred; sons, Bobby Guy and his wife Sandra, and Earl Guy and his wife JoAnne, all of Greenville; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and sister, Doris James of Clayroot.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. today at Wilkerson Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Earl and JoAnne Guy, 2304 Lester Mills Road, Greenville.
Memorials may be made to Grifton United Methodist Church, 207 E. McCrae St., Grifton, NC 28530.
