Irene M. Semelroth

1951 - 2012

GALESBURG - Irene M. Semelroth, 61, Galesburg, died at 9:54 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2012, at home.
She was born Jan. 10, 1951, in Springfield, the daughter of Charles and Margaret Miller Beard Sr. She married Daryle Semelroth on May 12, 1973, in Biggsville.
She is survived by her husband, Daryle; her mother, Margaret Beard of Bardolph; a brother, Charles Beard Jr. of Stronghurst; a sister, Darlene Tomey of Bardolph; her two best friends, Bonnie Swigart and Cheryl Cole; and numerous nieces and nephews whom she was close to. She was preceded in death by her father.
Irene was a sewing machine operator for Smoler's Fashions in Monmouth for six years. She was a homemaker.
She graduated from Stronghurst High School in 1969. She lived in Galesburg since 1983. Irene was a member of East Galesburg Community Chapel and the Military Family and Friends Support Group. She volunteered her time with Ralph M. Noble American Legion Post 285.
She really enjoyed spending time at the riverboat casinos with her friends playing cards.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 20, 2012, at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Rev. Milton Marquith will officiate. Visitation will be 9 to 10 a.m. Monday at the chapel.
