Malcolm D. "MD" Wilson

1944 - 2015

BRITTON, Mich. - M.D. Wilson, 71, Britton, died Thursday, Aug. 20, 2015, at ProMedica Herrick Hospital. He was born March 17, 1944, in Chicago, to Malcolm Douglas and Reese (Elliott) Wilson. On Dec. 2, 1995, he married Barbara Appell in Galesburg, Illinois, and she survives. M.D. proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy, and was a member of the American Legion and an Eagle Scout.
M.D. was retired from the phone company as a programmer. He was past president of the Lima Astronomical Society and a life member of the National Space Society. He was also a life member and supportive patron of the NRA. M.D. was active in the Northside Neighborhood Association in Lima, Ohio, the Adrian Amateur Radio Club, and he was a member of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Lima, where he previously served as president.
In addition to his wife, Barbara, he is survived by a daughter, Kristen (Justin) Smith of Maybee; a son, Dustin Voss of Seattle, Washington; and four grandchildren, Lucas Alexander Smith, Aleena Smith, Casey Voss and Cory Voss Jr. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son Cory Allen Voss; special grandmothers, "Mamo," and "Lana"; and a special aunt, Grace.
M.D. has donated his body to The University of Michigan Medical School. A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Lima, Ohio (875 Market St.). Memorial contributions in honor of M.D. may be directed to the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship or to the charity or organization of the donor's choice.
