Mary Patterson Obituary
Mary was born Aug. 2, 1932, in Galesburg, the daughter of Frank William and Helen Josephine Flynn Laule. Mary is survived by two sons, Tony Patterson of Macomb and Steven Patterson of O'Fallon, Missouri; three grandchildren, Bill, Daniel, and Lindsay Patterson; a dear friend, Norman Groff of Galesburg; and two sisters-in-law, Bonita Laule of Naperville and Jane Stevens of Avon. Along with her parents, Mary was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill and Frank Laule.
Mary graduated from Corpus Christi High School and St. Francis School of Nursing in Peoria. Mary worked as a R.N. for many years at St. Mary's Hospital, Galesburg Research Hospital and Zeller Mental Health Center in Peoria. While working for Galesburg Research, Mary obtained her Nursing Home Administrator License. She also worked as a L.P.N. Instructor at Carl Sandburg College. Mary was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and Right to Life. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family.
The rosary will be prayed at 4 p.m. Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at Watson-Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg with visitation following from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday May 17, 2017, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Galesburg. Private family burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Galesburg. Memorial contributions may be made in Mary's memory to St. Patrick's Catholic Church or to St. Jude's.
