DUBIEL, ALMA F. Torrington- Alma F. Dubiel, 84, of Queens Road, died Thursday, August 14, 2014, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. Alma was born in Torrington on December 3, 1929, daughter of the late Joseph P. and Anna (Ruzbasan) Dubiel, and had been a lifelong Torrington resident. She was a retired employee of the Torrington Company, retiring with 47 years of service. Alma was a lifelong communicant of Sacred Heart Church, a member of Jednota, enjoyed horse racing, visiting the casino, and playing bingo. Survivors include a brother, Rudolph J. “Rudy” Dubiel of Torrington, a sister, Ann “Annie” Mackiewicz of Terryville, three nephews; Michael Dubiel, Robert Zbuska, and Joseph Corbo, two nieces; Kathy Zbuska, Christine Bakalos, and several grand nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 18, 2014, at 9:30a.m. from Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect Street, Torrington, to Sacred Heart Church, 116 Grove Street, Torrington, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30a.m. Burial will follow in New Saint Francis Cemetery, Torrington.
