Edward Follert Obituary

Follert, Jr., Edward Vincent
It is with deep sadness to inform you that on Friday, February 26, 2021, Edward Vincent Follert, Jr., entered eternal rest at the age of 57.
Ed was born July 19, 1963 in Hartford, CT. He graduated from Canton High School in 1981. Ed was a proud man who worked various jobs over the years including several restaurants in his younger days, Valley Energy, Canton Well Drilling, SSS, Butch & Loveland and as a traffic controller. He loved animals, camping, fishing (deep sea) and cooking. Ed is predeceased by his father, Edward Vincent Follert, Sr., and is survived by his mother, Arlene (O'Meara) Follert of Canton, CT.
Ed leaves behind two beautiful step-children, Kerri (Charles) Barrett and Christopher (Brittany) Barrett that he loved and cared for as if they were his own from a very young age. Also, he left behind five grandchildren, Haley, Hannah, Ella, Jameson and Amelia all from Torrington, CT who he adored.
Ed had four siblings: Cheryl (Jim) Deming of Avon, CT, Douglas (Ashley) Follert of Litchfield, CT, Lisa (Paul) Walzak of Canton, CT and Deborah Follert of Canton, CT. He was an amazing uncle to eight nieces and nephews: Tracey, Kevin, Rylee, Lily, Matthew, Morgan, Samantha and Jenny. He will be missed by so many of his friends including lifelong friend, Donna Marinelli of Canton, CT.
Ed had a great personality. He was kind, caring, friendly and always smiling. He loved to make people laugh. He had a quick wit and a unique and contagious laugh that gave us so many fond memories to cherish. Ed left us way too soon, but will always be loved and in our hearts forever.
WALK THROUGH calling hours will be held Saturday, March 13th from 11:00am-1:00pm at The Ahern Funeral Home, 111 Main St., Unionville, CT. There will be a private memorial service at a future date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Can't say that I knew him very well, but he was always kind... Every time that I seen Ed he was quick to make sure I was still on track with my recovery an made sure to let me know I was doing the right thing. He always made me smile even if I didn't have my coffee yet... Ed you will be missed this is 4 sure... My condolences go out to his remaining family & close friends, just know that he's now another angel watching over us all...
