MARY CONSIGLIO Obituary

CONSIGLIO, MARY CAROL (STANNARD) Winsted: Mary Carol (Stannard) Consiglio, 64, of 50 East Lake Street, passed away on February 11, 2016 with her husband of over 40 years by her side. Mary was the daughter of the late Irving and Emma (DiNicola) Stannard. Mary is survived by her husband Corrodo Consiglio, two daughters Maria (Consiglio) Bordonaro and Angelica (Consiglio) Moloney, two granddaughters, Olivia Travaglin and Malia Bordonaro, three brothers, Charles Stannard, Lucian Stannard, Irving J. Stannard and two sisters, Cecilia DallaValle, Francis Zuffelato. She was predeceased by her eldest daughter, Christina (Consiglio) Travaglin. Mary worked in the Winchester Public School system as a paraprofessional, owned and operated Soaps and Suds Laundromat in both Winsted and New Hartford, CT and worked as a dental assistant. Mary taught Catechism class at St. Joseph Church in Winsted for many years. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. Mary graduated from Northwestern CT Community College with and Associate’s Degree in the Arts. She was and avid artist who enjoyed spending time at the beach painting. She also enjoyed spending time with her two granddaughters Olivia Travaglin and Malia Bordonaro. Mary loved camping with her family and friends and going to the local NASCAR racing events. She enjoyed watching her daughters and granddaughter perform in their ballet performances. Mary had a love for animals and especially enjoyed watching her daughters and granddaughter ride compete with their horses. Mary was an incredibly strong woman who will be greatly missed by all family and friends. The family asks, in lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Joseph Church in Winsted or the Lourdes Shrine of Litchfield, CT. Calling hours will be held at the Maloney Funeral Home 55 Walnut Street, Winsted on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 from 5-8 PM. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 17, at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Church in Winsted. To leave an online condolence, please visit www.maloneyfuneral.com.

Although miles and time have separated us, Mary will always have a special place in my heart.
She was a wonderful friend throughout our high school years. I smile as I think back to those times. Lots of fun and crazy times.
