Norm Mubarek Obituary

Mubarek, Norm (Buzz)
Buzz passed away late in September, he was sixty-two. He joins his father Charles, his sister Adele and his brother Charlie, all of whom were gentle and decent people that the world would have benefited had they remained with us longer. He leaves his mother Tillie and his brother George as well as countless friends and relatives that loved Buzz. He was a hero to his cousin Timmy, a young lad of twelve.
This obituary is a bit late, but Buzz was almost always late. If he said he would visit on Saturday, he would show up on a Saturday, most likely some Saturday in the future, you could never be sure. Buzzy was hail hearty and well met. He was happy go lucky, warm and friendly and made a point to engage people in light hearted conversations. He always acknowledged every person he met, stranger or not. People easily warmed to him, he was quick with a smile and an upbeat story.
Buzz played by his own rules, he was not a person of convention, sometimes his approach to life was an abrasion to the establishment in which we live. He was a talented landscaper, mason, risk taker, worked as a roady, and pharmaceutical enthusiast. His interest in exotic herbs as a teenager became an obsession and it served him well as one of the most renowned specialists and distributors throughout his lifetime. The State of Connecticut even recognized his passion and presented him with a special license to legally possess and enjoy. This Lifetime Achievement Award bestowed upon Buzz was an accomplishment which was well deserved and treasured by him. Buzz placed women on a pedestal, he appreciated the ladies and was a relationship expert, due to his extensive number of relationships.
One thing that stood out about Buzz was how kind he was to children, all children. He spoke with children, he listened to them, cared deeply for them and encouraged them, entertained them and made them laugh and feel good about themselves. At parties the children would flock to him, listen to his stories, share theirs with him.
Buzz loved relaxing at the ocean in Misquamicut, we spent many days there fishing, watching the water and being warmed by the sun and cooled by the salty breeze. Most likely this is where his ashes will be placed to be moved by the wind and the water.
To the many people that knew Buzz, laughed and partied with him, enjoyed his sense of humor, his passing is untimely and sad. Buzz was one of a kind, he was a great person. We hope you will remember and honor Buzz by being upbeat, greet people with a smile and a hearty hello, listen intently to a child and maybe just perform a kindness to someone and think of Buzz.
There will be a memorial gathering, like Buzz it will be later rather than sooner.

I was just speaking of "Buzzy" a couple of days before his passing. Don't worry, it was all good! Man, was I shocked to hear that he left this earth! He was so funny, full of life and a nice guy. We will attend his memorial when it is held later rather then sooner. Our condolences go out to his mama and his brother, and, to all his family as well. He's now "the life of the party" up in heaven with all his family members and all of his/our mutual friends who passed away before "Buzzy".

Buzz and I went to school together but had lost touch over the years. About 4-5 years back he reconnected with me on Facebook. He was always funny, respectful, supportive and kind. He made me laugh on days I wasn't laughing. My prayers go out to his family. RIP Buzz and Traci sends hugs too. - Sue McGaughey (Cali girl)
