Norma was the daughter of the late Napoleon J. Perry and Melvina E. (Houghton) Perry Dearing of East Otis, Massachusetts and the wife of the late James P. Funk of Winsted. She was also predeceased by brothers William Perry of Otis, Massachusetts, Clark Dearing of Blandford, Massachusetts, and Frank and Joseph Dearing of East Otis, Massachusetts; sisters Marion (Perry) Suleski of Winsted, Barbara (Dearing) Peebles Waterman of Westfield, Massachusetts, Betty (Dearing) Wolford of Norfolk, and June Dearing of East Otis, Massachusetts; great-grandson, Michael Anthony Matthews of Winsted.
Her surviving family members are daughter Rev. Lin (Funk Matthews) McGee and husband Rev. David McGee of Winsted, sisters Florence (Dearing) Fish of Westfield, Massachusetts, Emma (Dearing) Malone of East Longmeadow, Massachusetts, and Alice (Dearing) Scheidel of Middletown, grandchildren JamesPeter (wife Leslie), Michael, Daniel, Thomas, Patrick, and Kimberly Matthews all of Winsted, Andrew Matthews (wife Crystal) of Willington, Heather Arel (husband Craig) of Norfolk, Shannon Millord, Ellen Hull (husband Al) of Torrington, Santina Crandall of Granby, Theresa Hofstrom (husband Glen), William McGee (wife Dshea) of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Brandy Eppinett (husband Blaine) of Denham Springs, Louisiana, Glen Wade Poche of Destrehan, Louisiana, and Kay Poche of Matairie, Louisiana; 38 great-grandchildren ;10 great-great-grandchildren; former caretaker /'daughter' Krystyna Kijewska.
