VILMA HINCHCLIFFE Obituary

HINCHCLIFFE, VILMA M. GAIONI Vilma Mary Hinchcliffe (Gaioni) of Ormond Beach, FL formerly of Torrington, CT, passed away on October 27, 2014, at the age of 84. She was born on August 2, 1930 in Hartford, CT, the daughter of Augusta and Arturo Gaioni. She was married to Walter Hinchcliffe for 56 years and lived in Torrington, CT. Vilma graduated from St. Francis Nursing School in Hartford, CT and worked as a Registered Nurse and was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Torrington. After her husband, Walter’s death in 2009, Vilma relocated to Florida. Vilma was an intelligent, well-read person who was very knowledgeable about movies and current events. But most importantly, Vilma was a loyal wife and involved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great- grandmother. Vilma worked and sacrificed for her family and was always there for them in times of need, and she always made an effort to make sure her family knew they were loved and special. She will be greatly missed more than she would ever want to realize. What she did for our family will never be forgotten. Vilma is survived by her children, Susan Gordon (Michael) of Clever, MO, Stephen Hinchcliffe (Maria) of Avon, OH, and Christine Dann (Jeffrey) of Ormond Beach, FL.; grandchildren Robyn Pellegren, Jason Pellegren (Leigha) and Melissa Melton (Wesley), Gina and Sarah Hinchcliffe, Erica and Alexander Dann; great-grandchildren Devon Harter(Kaleb) and Jenna McCord, Ethan Pellegren, Trevor and Hannah Melton; great-great granddaughter, Kamryn Harter. Vilma was predeceased by her sister, Romana Rossi (Robert). She also leaves behind her siblings, Eleanor Hallock and Joseph Anthony Gaioni (Inge) and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Special thanks to the entire staff of Ormond in the Pines who so capably helped our mother during the twilight of her years. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2014, with the procession leaving at 8:30 a.m. from Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington, to St. Peter Church, 107 East Main St., Torrington, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Francis New Cemetery. Vilma you and Sonny were always so good to me. I will always have a special place in my heart for you both. I pray that you are with Sonny, Bob,Romano and your parents now. We had so many special times with you both all the holidays we shared together. Watching football at Thanksgiving with your son Stephen. I always think of Sonny making his mash potatoes and picking the apples from the tree and you making apple pie.You were such great Grandparents to our kids. I will really miss you Vilma and Sonny you were better to me then my father. I never met such a special man always making us laugh and Vilma I loved playing cards with you always made me so comfortable when visiting. I was a lucky man to have married into such a great family. The cookouts and weddings we shared together were always so much fun. Stephen, Christine and Susan you were so lucky to have such special loving parents. You both gave us our start in life when we got to buy Nonnis house. I can see you now coming to see your mother and sweeping our sidewalk to the door. I love you Vilma . I know Sonny is making you laugh again and you 2 are together again. Love your son in law Michael-Gordy God bless you
