I was fortunate to have worked with "Big" Dan for a couple of years at HH. He was a special soul that cared deeply for others. I enjoyed sitting with Dan and hearing his thoughts, his stories and his affection for his family, his dog and his vehicle.
Dan had the innocence of a child. He had a warm, friendly presence to him. Dan would connect with the youth he worked with through humor an empathy.
There will be no forgetting his smile.
When I first heard of Dan's passing, I imagined him challenging an angel to a contest of who could squeeze the other's hand the hardest.
Your presence will never be forgotten at the HH and you always be in our hearts.

Uncle Danny will always hold a special place in our hearts, and we will miss him greatly. For Dale, Danny always greeted him with "hey kid" whether it was on the phone or in person. He served as the best man in our wedding, and the memories of all the hunting and fishing trips the two of them shared, will last Dale a lifetime. The two of them shared the same birthday, even though years separated them in age. The bond was very special, his sense of humor left you with tears of laughter, and his stories? Well there were many. The red bronco seen cruising around town with his left arm perched on the window, will be missed. MaryLynn and Missy, you were his pride and joy. We are so sorry for your loss, and we share in the loss of a very special man that we loved dearly.

Oh Mary Lynn and Melissa, I am so shocked and saddened to learn of Dan's passing. Dan will always hold a special place in my heart with the time he spent with Lara and then Gareth. I will never forget meeting him for the first time, trusting him with my kids, and always being happy to see him. He was such a caring and happy man. The world is a little darker today. My prayers are with you all in this very sad time.

Mary and family, so very, very sorry to hear of Dan's passing. What a shock. Ferry Street Bridge area/Eugene will never be the same without the red Bronco and Dan's smiling face cruising around. Please know I am thinking of you!
