Darlene Joy Loper was born on October 31, 1939 in San Luis Obispo, CA to Marjorie and Henry Lorenz.

She is proceeded in death by her Mother Marjorie, her Father Henry, her brothers Alvin and Jerry. She is survived by her brother Jimmy Lorenz and his wife Carol of Coos Bay, Oregon: Her Son Kelly Loper and his Wife Wendy of Junction City, Oregon: Three Grand-daughters, Caelah Cumiford and her husband Cameron of Dexter, Oregon, Danielle Wischmeyer and her husband Jeremy of Junction City, Oregon and Dina Smyth of Junction City, Oregon and a Step-grandson Austin Vinyard: and Three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews

Darlene's joy in life was her son Kelly, her grand kids and her cats. Darlene was a hard working, loving, single mother. She worked many years for James River Paper Mill in Halsey, Oregon where she retired. She was a loved co-worker, where she earned the nickname "Mother Aurora".

When Darlene was not working and raising her son, she enjoyed spending time with her beloved cats, reading, going for walks, spending time with her brothers and family. She lived many years in Junction City and in Brownsville and enjoy what both small towns and community's had to offer.

She was a beloved resident at RiverGrove Memory Care facility. She passed away on Easter Sunday, April 16, 2017 due to dementia and will be deeply missed by all whom loved her and whom were touched by her smile, and hugs.
