Gary was just a joy to be with, warm and happy and full of positive comments. I am saddened to lose my infrequent but always rich meeting opportunities at our fishing club. He will truly be missed and he left a lovely legacy.

Gary was a treasured member of the Old Time Fiddler's Association. Always there with a hugh smile, bigger heart and willingness to pitch in for any capacity where there was a need. He was such a lovely presence at the jams, but even more poignantly, at Fiddle Camp. This year was especially memorable, in that he brought his rocking chair and the absolutely coolest troll mug I have ever seen. It suited his persona. The loss of his positive spirit is immense. We will be celebrating and honoring this beloved man on Saturday at the Santa Clara Grange Hall this Saturday, 9/14, with a jam that will incorporate his favorite tunes. Please join us! The grange is on Azalea Street in Santa Clara, not very far north of the Beltline. Honorary jam will begin at 10:00 a.m. With genuine affection, Amy Burrow

Gary, the campus Kiosk will never be the same as I pass by each day. I will miss your constant smile and pleasant attitude. You were one of the kindest gentlemen I've ever known. Rest in pease my friend.

I miss seeing your smiling face as you boarded my bus to work in the mornings. May you have plenty of stringed instruments to make joyful music for all to enjoy.

You were around 3 yrs. old when I met your mom. She was my second grade substitute teacher and also a VERY good friend to my mom.
Who would known that we would see each other so frequently at Magnolia Village while we visited our parents? In fact, I stopped by there last week and saw your dad and that smile on his face when I said, "how you doing, Cal?"
You have a wonderful family, Gary ... I know that you knew that. I'm sure that right now you and your mom are catching up on what's happened in the last few months since she left us as well.
I'll miss our off and on Facebook conversations where you always had something profound and comical to say.
Take care, my friend.
