Mary Cecilia Plueard

1929 - 2014

Mary Cecilia Plueard of Jasper, Oregon passed away on May 24, 2014 at the age of 84. She was born on August 20, 1929 in Idaho. Her parents, George and Aurella Koepl, were traveling at the time and Mary was born on the Nez Perce Ind. Res.

Mary lived in Springfield, Oregon until the age of 12 and then her family moved and started a farm in Jasper Oregon. Mary spent the rest of her life living in Jasper. Mary worked as a custodian at The Eugene Hospital and Clinic and then later at The Pleasant Hill School District.

She is survived by her six sons; Kenneth Gates, Paul Gates, Ronald Gates, David Gates, Jack Gates and Donald Gates. She also leaves behind her sister, Genevieve Hall, her much loved grandchildren, her step children, and her two cats Holly and Blackie.

Mary always put the needs of her family ahead of her own. She had a humble heart that not only touched the members of her family, but others which in return made them family. Mary had the heart of a little girl which you could see every time she would smile.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at 11 am at Springfield Memorial Gardens, 7305 Main St., Springfield, OR 97478.
