My condolences to Dr. Stebbins' family. His illustrations for "Birds of the Campus" (UCLA) are so beautiful.

I am saddened to hear of the passing of a man for whom I have the greatest respect. I had the privilege of meeting Dr. Stebbins in Eugene during the 1980's. His granddaughter was a student of mine at Churchill High. We talked about our days studying zoology at UCLA.
He was a gracious person and will be missed.

I'm sorry to hear of Dr. Stebbins passing. Had no idea that he was living in Eugene. I didn't have a class with him when I was at UC Berkeley but at least one of my brothers did and I do have a copy of his book on reptiles and amphibians. Will try to find a copy of his "Connecting With Nature". Would that we could all have such interesting lives. My sympathies to the family.
