Tim Larkin Obituary

September 1, 1949 -
June 9, 2016

Tim E. "Timmy" Larkin passed away June 9, 2016 due to complications from surgery. He was 66.

Timmy was born September 1, 1949 the only child of Max and Floss Larkin. He was in the first graduating class of Churchill High School in 1967. In 1969 he married Denise Wellborn and went into the United States Army. He served 2 years in the Army during the Vietnam War and was stationed in Baumholder, Germany. After getting out of the Army in 1971 he and Denise settled down in Eugene and had 2 children a son Adam and daughter Stacey. They later divorced. He was lucky enough to have later met and married the love of his life Laura Cox.

Tim worked for Pepsi/Bigfoot beverages for 34 years he retired in September 2011. While he retired in 2011 that didn't mean that he slowed down. Timmy continued to be highly involved in the community he loved so much including his beloved Ducks. Tim volunteered for many organizations including: Greenhill Humane Society, Eugene Rotary, Eugene Police Department, South Willamette Valley Honor flight (serving as a companion for 3 honor flights), Eugene Oregon Club and DAF. He served as President of Eugene Oregon Club in 2009. In addition to his many volunteer activities, Tim loved spending time with family and friends, be it enjoying a Duck game, golfing, enjoying a beer, fishing or spending time with his grandkids. In his final weeks he was lucky enough to have scored the NCAA golf tournament including the Woman's Individual title match.

Timmy was a gentle, giving, loving, devilish and hilarious spirit who loved unconditionally. He will be missed by many, many people who loved and appreciated him.

Tim is survived by his wife, Laura Cox; children: son, Adam Larkin and daughter, Stacey Crenshaw. Step-Children sons: Travis Reed and Andrew Cox, daughter, Emily Crick; multiple grandchildren and a great-grandchild on the way. In 2015 Tim also discovered that he had sibling's; brothers: Norman Harnar, Bradley Thompson and Lonnie Wheeler and sisters, Pat Essensa, Donna Jacobs and Connie Abbs.

In true Tim fashion a celebration of life will be held at Papa's Pizza on Coburg Road June 29th from 6:00pm -- 8:00pm. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Greenhill Humane Society or any other charitable cause close to your heart.
