William Owen (Bill) Bishop, 90 years of age, passed away peacefully at home on July 28, 2017. He was born in New York City to parents William Dewey Bishop and Ivy Louise née Paulson, on March 23, 1927.

His parents moved to Washington state, where he grew up in Seattle. After graduating from high school, he entered the army in June, 1945, at Fort Lewis, WA, serving until December, 1946.

On March 20, 1948 he married Jacqueline Billingsley. Their daughter, Mary Jacqueline, was born June 10, 1949. Bill enrolled in the University of Washington, graduating with a BA degree in business in 1960.

Their son, William Owen, Jr., was born in Seattle on January 5th, 1963. In 1968, with their daughter grown, they moved to San Jose, CA with their son. In 1980 Bill enrolled in De Anza College to study Physical Therapy Assisting. Upon graduation in 1983 he was employed by the Veterans' Administration, where he remained until retirement in 1997. Bill and Jackie moved to Eugene, OR in September, 2000, where they lived until his death.

He is survived by his wife, Jackie; daughter, Mary Bishop, Monterey, CA; son Bill Bishop Jr., Marina, CA; sisters, Beverly Denton, Seattle, WA and Donna Kennedy, Hampton, VA; and brother, H David Bishop (and Dorothy), Waco, TX.

The family are grateful to Cascade Hospice Services for their warm, loving care, with special thanks to Susan and Shirley. In addition, Charlie lovingly assisted in caring for Bill in the last 6 months of his life.

The cremation was in care of Neptune Services and Musgrove Family Mortuary. There will be no services, at Bill's request.
