EATON — Gloria Grace Clay Dalgety, 97, of Eaton, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2025, at the Greenbriar Nursing Center in Eaton.
She was born Feb. 23, 1928, in Cherokee, Iowa, to the late Sam and Irma (Scofield) Clay. Gloria was a 1945 graduate of Clarinda High School in Clarinda, Iowa and earned her bachelor's degree from Oberlin College Conservatory of Music in 1949. She loved classical music, playing bridge, reading and spending time with family. Throughout life she played in local symphonies located in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Buffalo, New York, and also enjoyed giving private flute lessons.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband William Dalgety; son Robert Dalgety; and sister Patricia Petty.
She is survived by her daughter Carol (Steve) Unger of Eaton; son James Dalgety of Hamilton; granddaughter Sarah (Rick) Pickerell of Springboro; grandson Brad (Lindsey) Unger of Eaton; great-grandchildren Brady and Elli Pickerell and Charlie and Parker Unger; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Gard Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Eaton is assisting with arrangements.
