Howard Martin Obituary
GRATIS TOWNSHIP — Howard C. Martin, 88, of Gratis Township, Preble County, passed away on Friday Nov. 14, 2025, at The Greenbriar Senior Living Center in Eaton.
He was born Sept. 18, 1937, in Deerfield Township, Ross County, to the late Howard D. and Mary Alice (Bowdle) Martin. Howard was a member of the West Elkton Church of Christ; and was a retired master electrician.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carol J. (Maxson) Martin in 2009.
Howard is survived by his children, Robert (Sandra) Martin, Susan (Don) Whitescarver, Lora (Paul) Gross and Anita (Brent) Slade; his grandchildren, Charity (Larry) Grill, Rob Martin, Christina (Jake) Gebhart, Amber (Shanna) Lopeman, Matthew (Sarah) Martin, Dan (Allison) Stapleton Jr., Adam (Kara) Martin, Shelby Slade and Emma Slade, 10 great-grandchildren; his siblings, Virginia (Jack) Tarbill, Don (Joyce) Martin; his sister-in-law; Donna (Larry) Ball; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation 10 a.m.-noon, Tuesday, No. 18, at the Dalton Funeral Home, 6900 Weaver Road, Germantown, where the funeral service will follow at noon, with Hugh Howard officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Gratis.
