LORETTO, TENNESSEE — Leland L. Shaffer, 87, of Loretto, Tennessee, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2023, at his residence surrounded by family.
He was a native of New Paris, a retired truck driver with Southern Craft Manufacturing, and a member of Loretto Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Garnett Petry Shaffer; and two brothers, Don Shaffer and Loren Shaffer.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Shaffer of Loretto, Tennessee; one son, Mark Shaffer (Cindi) of Richmond, Indiana; two daughters, Sharon Rader (Ed) of New Paris, and Tina Robinson (Rodney) of Loretto, Tennessee; seven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; two brothers, Junior Shaffer of New Paris, and Alan Shaffer of New Paris; and one sister, Wanda Smith of New Paris.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 25, at Loretto Methodist Church. Funeral services will be conducted at Loretto Methodist Church at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 25, with Jeff Jacob officiating.
Graveside services and interment will be conducted at Wares Chapel Cemetery in West Manchester, at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28.
The family suggests memorials be made to Mountain Top @ Home, c/o Loretto Methodist Church, 213 W. Commerce Street, Loretto, TN 38469.
