Anita L. DiSantis

Anita (Martino) DiSantis, 81, of Southington, the loving wife and Soul Mate of John C. DiSantis, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 19, 2025.
Anita was born on September 17, 1943, in Waterbury and was the daughter of the late Daniel (Donato) and Anita (DiFonte) Martino. She graduated from Croft High School in Waterbury along with her husband John in 1961 and then attended Kavula's Institute of Hair Design. Anita worked in several hair salons and owned Beauty Time Beauty Salon in Waterbury. She took accounting at Mattatuck College and was the manager for Bank of Boston's payroll department in the '90s and worked over 25 years as a human resource and payroll administrator in banking, retiring from Webster Bank. Anita lived in Waterbury for 59 years moving to Southington in 2002 becoming a parishioner of St. Dominic Church, where she and her husband joined and volunteered in many of the church organizations. She was a very devoted parishioner, Jesus was number one in her life and she loved sharing his word. She was very loving and compassionate to whomever she met. She was a member of Relay for Life, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Stephen Ministry and Bible Study Camp.
She was devoted to all her family including her stepchildren. She loved to cook for them and cherished the time she spent with all of them, especially her grandchildren. She loved to tell them about their heritage and shared lots of stories of the past. In addition to her husband John, Anita is survived by her two sons, Sisto Salzillo and wife Andrea of Southington and Danny Salzillo and wife Deanna of Bristol; two stepdaughters, Sheila Rousseau and husband David, Annette Gottlich and husband Donald of E. Taunton, MA and stepson John DiSantis Jr. of Taunton, MA. She also leaves her grandchildren Joseph and Emma Salzillo of Southington, Dylan Salzillo and girlfriend Liv Creager-Lupoli of Wolcott, Daniella and Donato Salzillo of Bristol, Felicia and David Candella, Nicholas and Amanda Rousseau of MA, Joseph Gottlich and Kelsey DiSantis of MA and Anthony Gottlich of RI; two great grandchildren Noelle Rousseau and Colson Candella of MA. Her funeral will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2025 at 10 a.m. from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington to St. Dominic Church, 1050 Flanders Rd., Southington for a Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. Inurnment will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery's columbarium.
