Christen Monica McCarthy, 48, of Concord, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully on November 9, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on May 23, 1977, in Waterbury, Connecticut, she was the daughter of Maurice McCarthy and the late JoAnna McCarthy. Christen was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School in Waterbury and Notre Dame College in Manchester, New Hampshire, where she earned a degree in social work. She dedicated many years of her career to the State of New Hampshire, Department of Juvenile Probation, where she was known for her compassion and commitment to helping others. Christen was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and the Boston Bruins, and she cherished her time spent on Cape Cod.
In addition to her father and his wife, Jane, Christen is survived by her sisters, Tracie and her husband, Bryan, and Patricia McCarthy of Waterbury. She also leaves behind her nephews, Robert (Michelle), Daniel (Olivia), and William, as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.
Arrangements – Visitation will be held on Friday, November 14, 2025, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 South Main St. On Saturday, a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, 74 W Main St., Waterbury. Friends are asked to meet directly at church. Burial will follow at New Pine Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Christen's memory may be made to The Mary DeVeau Foundation, PO Box 2002, Plattsburgh, NY 12901.
