Eva Annette Zepecki
January 27, 1951 – November 19, 2025
Eva Annette Zepecki, 74, of Litchfield, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on November 19, 2025, following complications from Alzheimer's disease.
Born on January 27, 1951, Eva was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, whose warmth and generosity touched all who knew her. A proud Italian American, she took great pride in creating a welcoming home and preparing memorable meals for the friends and family who gathered at her table. Her kitchen, especially during the holidays, was filled with the aromas of traditional recipes, like sauces and cookies, and endless banter.
Eva had a profound love for the beaches of Cape Cod and Martha's Vineyard, where she and her husband, Stephen, spent many happy summers camping in their RV. She delighted in meeting neighbors and had a remarkable gift relating to people, always finding the fun people and turning strangers into lifelong friends. A skilled negotiator with an eye for a bargain, Eva could charm even the toughest personalities with her wit and warmth. Growing up in upstate New York, she found great joy relaxing with her extended family on Canadaguia Lake and fishing in the Thousand Islands of the Saint Lawrence Seaway.
A devoted admirer of bluebirds, Eva's final moments were graced by a rare gathering of these birds outside her bedroom windows, each seemingly trying to catch a glimpse inside. One bluebird, flying into the windowpane, served as a gentle sign to open the window, allowing her departing soul to leave and join her loyal, feathered guardians.
Eva leaves behind her devoted husband and love of her life, Stephen Zepecki Jr.; her children, Alisa Zepecki (son, Ethan), William Gammetto (wife, Bridget, and children, William, Alex, Liam, Jameson, Gavin, and Finn), Michelle Baker (husband, James, and children, Charlie and Lauren), and Stephen Zepecki III; her brother, John Cellura, Jr. (wife, Margie); and her sister, Gloria Bucciarelli (deceased husband, John). She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her mother, Ruby James Cellura, father, John Cellura, and Stephen's parents, Stephen and Mildred Zepecki.
Alzheimer's disease requires a community of care, and Eva's family is profoundly grateful to the caretakers who became family, including Anna "Paula" Ronalter, Leydi De Escobar Olivarez, and Ashley Maria Garcia. Special recognition goes to Paula, whose countless hours of selfless care and unwavering support extended not only to Eva, but to her husband and children, providing comfort and compassion when it was needed most. We would also like to express our gratitude to Dr. M. Reyes and the Team at Accent Care Hospice, especially Rose, Johanna and Kelly.
Eva's legacy of love, hospitality, and joy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
