Evelyn M. (Burriesce) Lukes, 92, of Torrington, CT, peacefully passed away on Monday, June 30, 2025, at Valerie Manor. She was the wife of the late Ladislav "Larry" Lukes.
Evelyn was born May 16, 1933, in Stamford, CT, the daughter of the late Peter P. and Annamarie (Marshall) Burriesce. She was successful in Real Estate sales for decades; she was the recipient of many awards for performance and was a longtime volunteer at the Sullivan Senior Center, where she was the coordinator of Volunteers.
She is survived by two sons, Christopher L. Lukes (Karen) and Peter P. Lukes (Dianne), both of Torrington, CT; one daughter, Kathy Jurkowski (Frank) of Westhampton, MA; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Peter Burriesce, and a sister, Jean Schofield.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington, CT. Burial will follow at St. Francis New Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday morning from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
