BETHLEHEM- George T. Norton III, 76, of Bethlehem passed away at his home Wednesday, November 19, 2025, with his children by his side.
Murph, as George was known by everybody, was born November 14, 1949, son to the late George T. and Edith (Cole) Norton, Jr. He grew up in Woodbury where he attended local schools. Murph was the third generation to own and operate George T. Norton Painting. Heaven is about to have a shortage of pennies now that Murph, a lover and avid collector of one cent pieces, has arrived.
Murph is survived by his children George T. Norton IV, Matthew Norton and Amy Norton; his siblings Bob Norton, Chuck Norton, Debbie Lindberg and Terri Willis; his grandchildren Brian, Casey, Morgan, Calvin, Devon, Ashleigh, Joshua, George and Seth; six great-grandchildren and many aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Murph was predeceased by his brother Frank Norton and sister Cindy Norton.
Friends are invited to call from 5-7 p.m. Monday November 24, 2025, at Hickcox Funeral Home, 195 Main St., Watertown. All other services are private and at the convenience of the family.
