Born in Waterbury, on December 24, 1933, Gloria was the daughter of Donato and Concetta (Fusco) Varrone. She was a graduate of Slocum Grammar School and Wilby High School. She worked as an Office Manager for Peat, Marwick, Mitchell, & Company (KPMG), a loyal employee for over 35 years. She grew up attending St. Lucy's Church and married Gus, the love of her life, there. She was also a faithful parishioner at St. John of the Cross Church in Middlebury. She served as a lector and was a participant in bible study there for many years.
Gloria was a compassionate, hardworking and devoted woman, evident in the ways that she cared for family and friends. She sought many opportunities to help others. Gloria was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, cousin, aunt, and grandmother. Family was always her priority.
Gloria is survived by her daughters Gloria Panasci of Trumbull, Teresa Nadeau (Ned Goebler) of Prospect, and Nancy Burke Keogh of Naples, FL. She leaves six grandchildren, their spouses, nine great-grandchildren, two sisters-in-law, and several nieces and nephews. To her grandchildren, family, and friends who were fortunate to share memorable times with Gloria ("Mom", "Gramma", "Nonni", "Stella"), she was truly a "force"!
