Jean Benedict Obituary
Jean Frances (Carkner) Benedict, 88, of Southbury, died peacefully January 21st, 2026, at River Glen Health Center in Southbury. She was the widow of Frank A. Benedict.
Jean was born September 30, 1937, in Albany NY, daughter of the late Minard and Viola Carkner. She was a longtime resident of Waterbury. She was employed as an assembler at United Avionics in Naugatuck until her retirement.
Jean is survived by her son Kenneth Benedict and his wife Odette of Waterbury; son Edward Benedict and his fiancé Tanya Fowler of Monmouth Junction, NJ; daughter Patty Benedict of Waterbury; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, a great-great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Frank Benedict, daughter Lisa Benedict and brother Robert Carkner.
