Joseph A. Lambo, III, age 60, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, November 23, 2025, at Yale New Haven Hospital. He was the devoted husband of Laureen (Hughes) Lambo.
Born in Waterbury, on June 25, 1965, he was the son of the late Joseph A. Lambo, Jr. and Michele (Frenette) (Lambo) Geer and her husband Raymond of Watertown. Joe attended Crosby High School. He went on to build a long and dedicated career with the City of Waterbury, Public Works Department, where he worked as a truck driver for 25 years until his retirement.
Joe had a lifelong passion for trucks, his own was always immaculate, outfitted with every gadget imaginable, and treated with the care one might give a cherished family member. He also drove for RKJR and Mennillo Plus Enterprises 2.0, forming lasting friendships along the way.
One of Joe's greatest joys was touring the Smoky Mountains on his Harley Davidson with his wife; it was their shared dream to retire there one day. He loved tending to his summer vegetable garden. He treasured every moment spent with his family, especially his granddaughters, Arianna Lambo and Skylar Lambo, and with his loyal dog, Nala. Joe was also an enthusiastic Boston Red Sox and New York Giants fan, never missing a chance to cheer on his teams.
In addition to Laureen, his wife of 39 years, Joe is survived by his son, Joseph Lambo IV and his wife Gina, his daughter Victoria Lambo, and his granddaughters, Arianna Lambo and Skylar Lambo all of Bristol. He also leaves behind his sisters-in-law, Andrea DiPaolo and her husband Nicholas of Savannah, GA, Linda Peck and her husband Neil of Wolcott, and Debra Collins and her husband Ross of Surfside, SC, as well as his nieces and nephews, Danielle Gallo, Jacob Paternostro, Nicholas Peck, Amanda Hitchcock, and Jacob Peck and many cousins and friends.
Joe's family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Bristol Hospital and St. Francis Hospital for their exceptional and compassionate care.
Joe's funeral will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. from Maiorano Funeral Home, 95 Willow St., Waterbury to the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception for a mass at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Watertown.
