Kenneth William "Keco" Coviello
Kenneth William "Keco" Coviello, 90, passed away on October 31, 2025 at St. Mary's Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was predeceased by his wife of 56 years Lucille (DiBartolomeo) Coviello in 2017.
Kenneth was born in Waterbury on August 14, 1935, the son of the late Anthony J. and Catherine (Mastrianna) Coviello. He was a graduate of Crosby High School, Class of 1953 and attended the University of Connecticut. Kenneth served in the United States Army from 1954-1956 and was chosen to be part of the Honor Guard at Arlington National Cemetery at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
Kenneth was employed at J.E. Smith Lumber Company for 43 years and at Home Depot for 20 years. When he retired, he worked as a crossing guard at Blessed Sacrament Grammar School. He was well known for his athletic endeavors, excelling in softball. In 2019, Kenneth was inducted into the Connecticut Softball Hall of Fame. He was a lifelong New York Yankees fan.
Kenneth leaves behind four children: Lisa Clark of Waterbury, Catherine Coviello of Wethersfield, Susan Cerasale and her husband Steven of Prospect and Michael Coviello and his husband Navarun Gupta of Bridgeport. He is survived by six grandchildren: Annie, Christopher and Abby Townsend and Allison, Erica and Caitlyn Cerasale and two great-grandchildren Etta and Grey Townsend. Kenneth also leaves behind a sister Karen Coviello of Waterbury as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Arrangements: Visitation will be held on Friday November 7, 2025 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Prospect Memorial/ The Palmerie Family Funeral Home, 122 Waterbury Rd., Prospect. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday, November 8, 2025 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 785 Highland Ave., Waterbury, CT. All those planning to attend the funeral mass are kindly asked to meet directly at the church. Interment with military honors will immediately follow at Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury. Prospect Memorial/The Palmerie Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements and to care for the Coviello family during this difficult time.
