Louis L. Tibbals Jr., 97, of Harwinton, Connecticut, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on September 26, 2025. Louis was predeceased by his loving wife, Patricia, his three sons: Louis, Charles and Richard, and sisters, Elizabeth and Winona.
He is survived by his five grandchildren, Scott and Grace Tibbals of Barkhamsted, Dawn Guzman of North Carolina, Lisa and Christopher Curtiss of Northfield, Heather and Stephen Fisher of Torrington and Stacey Tibbals of Litchfield, and daughter-in-law, Marlene Hartnett of Torrington. Louis also leaves seven great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter.
Louis worked for the Iffland Lumber Company for over 50 years and was affectionately known as "Spike" at the lumber yard. His preciseness and knowledge helped many patrons and contractors throughout those years.
A graveside burial is planned on Monday, October 6th, at the Winchester Cemetery, South Rd., Winchester/Winsted, CT, at 11:00am. The family extends an invitation to all who knew the Tibbals family.www.phalenfuneral.com
