Marion V. Marano
"Beloved wife, mother, daughter, grandmother and friend"
Marion V. Marano, 90, formerly of Middlebury, CT, was reunited with her husband in heaven on November 10, 2025 with family by her side. She was the wife of the late Joseph F. Marano.
Marion was born in Waterbury, CT, daughter of the late Salvatore and Vivian (Santarsiero) Iava. Marion graduated from St. Joseph College and Catholic University of America where she earned a Master's degree in Chemistry. She worked as a chemist at Uniroyal in Naugatuck. Marion then attended Western Connecticut State University where she earned a Master's degree in Education. She worked as a teacher at Kingsbury and later B.W. Tinker Schools in Waterbury, CT. After retirement, Marion and Joe split their time between their homes in Middlebury, CT and Naples FL.
Marion leaves behind to cherish her memory her beloved children, Vivian Turner and her husband Michael of Bluffton, SC, Sharon Baranowski and her husband Thomas of Punta Gorda, FL, Clifford Marano and his wife Barbara of Naples, FL. Her grandchildren Lauren Herodes (Alden) of Westbrook, ME and Kristen Baranowski (John) of Stamford, CT. She also leaves behind her life-long best friend Lois Ruggerio Rachmuddin and her husband Josef of Waterbury, CT.
Marion was an avid reader, walker and dog lover. She enjoyed having fun with her family and friends. She liked to travel and was always ready to go. She was an early adopter to technology and social media; Marion was a lifelong learner. She will be greatly missed.
The family would like to thank Estella Pino as well as all the staff at Avow Hospice for the care and support of Marion.
Arrangements: All funeral services for Marion will be private. A private Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John of the Cross Church, The Roman Catholic Parish of Middlebury and Southbury, in Middlebury. Burial will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Watertown. Chase Parkway Memorial, the Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury, has been entrusted with handling Marion's funeral arrangements.
