Mark Baranowski Obituary

Mark Baranowski
Seymour, CT: Mark P. Baranowski, age 70, entered into peaceful rest on February 14, 2026, with his devoted family and friends by his side. Mark was born July 27, 1955, in Bridgeport, son of the late Walter and Catherine (Stiewing) Baranowski. Mark retired from the trucking industry: driving tractor trailers, heavy machinery and even tour buses. Mark would capture the admiration of the visitors with his extensive knowledge of history in the Boston, New York, and Washington, DC areas. History was a passion of Mark's, and he loved to share stories with all his tour guests.
Besides history Mark had many passions fishing, going to flea markets, playing cribbage, collecting coins, cornhole tournaments and golfing. He loved playing golf with his brother, Michael, Sheila, Tracy, Brian, and Andrew. He was often seen at Pomperaug, Eastern Mountain, and Western Hills golf courses.
While these were passions of Mark's, they paled in comparison to the love he had for his country, his family, and close friends. His grandchildren were the light of his life. He cherished every moment he spent with them and his children. The cross-country trip he took with his loving wife, Pam, and all their grandchildren in 2016 was an experience of a lifetime creating memories that will last forever.
The last few months were spent at home with close family and friends. Many heartfelt conversations, lots of tv time, poker playing, and even the grandchildren getting him involved in karaoke, many laughs and smiles were shared. During this time being able to develop an even stronger bond with his sister, Jill, and sister-in-law, Tracy, gave him great pleasure.
Mark was predeceased by his loving wife of 23 years, Pamela Baranowski.
In addition, Mark leaves behind his loving family, including daughter, Angela McKirryher (Brian) of Seymour, with whom he resided, and his son, Michael Ames (Jennifer) of Naugatuck; his brother, Michael (Sheila) of Waterbury; his sister, Jill (Scott) Crossman of Harwinton; his grandchildren, Zachary, Kylie, Chase, Kaliah, Dante, and Benjamin; and his nieces and nephews, Kelly, Amy, Grace, Lily, Amy, Mark, Arthur IV, April. Special loved ones that he cherished deeply Jimbo, John, Sherry, Pete, Scott, Lori, Artie, Lynn, Brian, Tracy, Gary, Linda, Lorraine, Andrew and Danny.
Services will be private, at the discretion of the family.

My deepest sympathy and condolences to Mark's immediate family and many friends,
I went to high with Mark and I'll never forget all the great fun and hilarious times we had together playing sandlot baseball and football at Bungay School and at the cabin that we built out in the woods off of Kathy Drive in Seymour and the gang that used to sleep out there every weekend and high school vacation with such great friends like Dan Kearney, Bill Bacha , Bob Kozon , Mike Conroy, Paul Chaplick , Chris Abrahamson , Joe Waskewicz,Dave Enquist and my brother John just to name a few . We had more fun then kids these days could ever imagine and I'm so glad Mark was a part of it. The last time I saw Mark was when he was still driving truck for HAYNES CONSTRUCTION in Litchfield back in 2010.
May he rest in peace and be surrounded with family and friends he will be missed by many I'm sure . God Bless all of you ,
Sincerely,
Charles Ketz

To Mike, Jill and the entire family,

I am so very sorry and saddened to hear this news ... I had not seen a real lot of Mark since I moved from Seymour to DC and even less after he moved to Florida, but I'll never forget his friendship and yours throughout the 60s, 70s, and beyond. From bowling duckpins ("Low Fish Pays") and drinking beer at Ansmor Lanes (which later burned to the ground) to midnight joyriding and travel adventures from Seymour to both DC and Florida, I enjoyed my friendship with Mark throughout.

My sincere condolences to all ...

I´m so sorry for the families loss. Mark was a great guy and I remember him fondly in the old neighborhood on Argyle. He always made time for the younger kids in the neighborhood.

My thoughts and prayers to all .
I had the privilege to get to know Mark a short time ago.
He was a knowledgeable man with an awesome sense of humor. His interpretation of the Grinch was great.
When ever I see something pertaining to the Grinch , his antics come to mind and I smile. He and Pam made a good pair along with the love of their family.
He will be missed.

Mark, I willl miss our many discussions (aka arguments), playing cribbage, going to flea markets and spending time together. I will especially remember our trip to the Grand Canyon, the summer we stayed with you and Pam(thank you) and Amy´s 2nd birthday party(you made a big splash, lol).
As I am sad, I am also comforted knowing that you and Pammy are together. Love you bro

Rest in peace my little brother. Sometimes we got on each other's nerves as brothers usually do but always loved you so much. So many words can describe you but my favorite are; You always had an impact on people. So much love and not enough time. I will miss you more than you probably could have ever guessed. Oh yeah, and thanks for your final present!!
