Maurice Harmon Obituary

Maurice Harmon
Maurice "Moe" Harmon, 88, of Mesa, Arizona, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2026. He was born on September 27, 1937, in Waterbury, Connecticut, to Frank and Anna Harmon. He was raised there and began his career and family life in the area.
Moe proudly served two enlistments in the United States Navy from 1955 to 1962. Continuing his commitment to service, he later served in the Connecticut Army National Guard from 1976 to 1992. During his early military years, he married Diane Russell in 1960, and they built their life together.
After his military service, Moe worked as an auto mechanic at several Town Plot garages before joining ThinSheet Metals Company in Waterbury. Through dedication, leadership, and an unmatched work ethic, he rose from manager to Vice President of Operations- a testament to his determination and steady character.
Following the passing of his first wife, Diane, in 1995, Moe later found love again and married Marlene Rillstone. Together, they made their home in Arizona, where he spent the last 30 years of his life enjoying retirement, friendships, and family.
Moe was a proud and active member of the VFW, American Legion, the Elks, the American Italian Civic Club (AICC), and the Ancient Order of Hibernians (AOH). He valued camaraderie, tradition, and service.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Diane; and his son, Kim.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Marlene; his son, Sean Harmon and wife, Patti Scopino; his son, Maurice Harmon and wife, Doreen; his daughter-in-law, Rebecca Harmon; his stepdaughter, Lynette Tabaka; and his cherished grandchildren, Leon, Benjamin, Tyler, Patrick, Jack, and Madeline.
Moe was a man who could fix or build just about anything. His woodworking projects and handiwork will live on in the homes and lives of those he loved. He found simple joy in walking his dog around the neighborhood, sharing stories, lending a helping hand, and quietly taking care of those around him. He will be remembered for his strength, loyalty, sense of humor, and the steady presence he brought to his family and friends. His legacy lives on in the values he instilled and the memories he helped create.
Burial will be private. A memorial will be held at a later date.

Dear Mar and family of Moe,
I know first hand of Moe´s talents. He was a wonderful neighbor who helped me put a ceiling fan in our home when I lived down the street and I have several of his wooden ornament creations at my home now. I remember going to church with Moe and Mar and visiting with them. I don´t recall Moe ever saying a bad word or ever in a bad mood. The world is a better place because of his service and his constant love of his neighbors and friends. He will be missed.
With our sincerest condolences,
Arlis and Gerald Waltos
