Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather & Brother"
Michael Milburn, 70, of Litchfield, CT and Melbourne Beach, FL, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at his home in Litchfield with family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Joanne (Iarrapino) Milburn for 50 years.
Michael was born on June 17, 1955, in Waterbury, CT, a son of the late Bernadine (Briglia) Mordino. He was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School and earned his degree from Waterbury State Technical College. For many years, Michael worked in quality assurance for various local manufacturing companies. In 1984, he started his 30+ year career at Risdon Manufacturing in Connecticut and New York before retiring as The Director of Quality Assurance for North America.
Mike and Joanne raised their children primarily in Waterbury and Middlebury. Mike was a longtime commissioner for the East Mountain Athletic Youth Sports Association (EMAA) and enjoyed coaching baseball, basketball and soccer for many years. Mike also served two terms as a member of the Waterbury Park and Recreation Commission and focused on improving access to youth athletics in Waterbury. He was a lifelong Mets, UConn basketball fan and an avid golfer. He held memberships at Pequabuck Golf Club in Bristol, CT and Aquarina Golf Club in Melbourne Beach, FL.
Mike and Joanne shared a lifelong dream to live at the beach and moved their residency to Melbourne Beach, FL in 2016, but continued to spend summers and holidays in Connecticut. Mike cherished spending time with his family especially during vacations in Rhode Island, Florida and Aruba.
Besides his wife, Joanne and his dog, Ginger, Michael is survived by his children, Michael J. Milburn and his fiancée, Michelle D'Amico of Southbury, CT, David W. Milburn and his wife, Nastasha of Milford, CT, Megan J. Milburn and her partner, Alexander Rocha of Toms River, NJ and six grandchildren, Alyssa, Alexis, Isabella, Ava, Carmela, and Michael. He also welcomed Grace and Vinny D'Amico to the family. He leaves his cousins Anne Briglia and Rosemary (Briglia) Natale that were like sisters to him, his brother, William Milburn and his wife, Mehrzad of San Diego, CA, his cousins Richard and Irene DeSanto of Berlin, CT and several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements: Michael's funeral will be held on Friday, October 17, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. from Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury, CT to St. John of the Cross Church, Midd-South Catholic, Middlebury, CT Campus for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Lake Elise Cemetery, Middlebury. Calling hours will be held on Thursday evening, October 16, 2025, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
