Goshen, CT - With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Nadine W. Rogg, 92, on June 4, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on July 9, 1932, in Dumont, NJ, Nadine led a vibrant life, marked by creativity and generosity.
In 1952, she graduated from Centenary College for Women, with a degree in fashion design, later enhancing her skills at the Traphagen School of Fashion in New York City. In 1954, she married Herman Rogg (pre-deceased), and together they lived in Clark, Watchung, Basking Ridge, NJ, and Goshen, CT. Each year from May to September, the couple enjoyed their cottage in Hague, NY, on the scenic shores of Lake George.
Nadine was a gifted fiber artisan, renowned for her hand-braided and hooked rugs that decorated their homes. When space ran out, she turned to quilting, crafting over 320 quilts. Many of these were donated to Wounded Warriors, battered and abused women, and others in need of comfort. Alongside her husband, Nadine was an avid antique collector, and for 25 years, she owned and operated Country Folk Antiques, showcasing her treasures at numerous antique shows across the country.
Nadine cherished spending time with friends at the Goshen Thursday morning quilting group. She also belonged to the Goshen Star Quilters, and she held an honorary lifetime membership in the Goshen Garden Club.
Nadine is survived by her son, Douglas Rogg, and daughter, Cynthia Baldwin; her grandchildren, Kyle and Ryan Baldwin, and Kevin and Stephanie Rogg; her great-granddaughter, Arianna; and her daughter-in-law, Lindy Rogg.
Nadine will be laid to rest alongside her husband in Ticonderoga, NY. A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July, 26, at Thurston Rowe Funeral Home, 283 Torrington Road, Litchfield.
