Patricia Yanok Adkins, 64, of Torrington, passed away on Sunday, February 1, 2026, from complications of lung cancer. Patti defied cancer to enjoy life, courageously fighting with dignity and grace. She was an inspiration to all who knew her.
Patti was born in Torrington on July 5, 1961. She attended Torrington schools and graduated from Northwestern Community College with an Associate Degree in Human Services. She worked tirelessly in various positions to better the lives of people with disabilities. Patti was a popular mobile disc jockey for many years, servicing Northwestern Connecticut and the Berkshires.
An avid gardener, Patti's vegetables were the envy of those who knew her. She also had a love for animals, adopting numerous dogs and cats over the years. But mostly, Patti enjoyed being outdoors: camping, hiking, paddleboarding, kayaking and skiing. She was happiest spending time with her sons and grandchildren, teaching them a respect and appreciation for nature and outdoor activities.
Patti is survived by her husband, Brad Adkins; her three sons, Brian Becker, Dale Becker and his wife, Nicole, David Marcantonio; and her grandchildren, Hope, Julian, Sebastian, Bella and Angela. She also leaves her siblings, Barbara Yanok, Carole Zemliauskas, Lori Burdick, Mimi Yanok and Robert Yanok; as well as a very large extended family and many dear friends. She also leaves her pets, Hans, Misty and Rose. Patti was predeceased by her parents, Andy and Betty Yanok; and her brother, Peter Yanok.
Calling hours will take place on Friday, February 13, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00pm at the Phalen Funeral Home in Torrington. Burial will be private. Patti's family will host a celebration of her life on Sunday, July 5, 2026, her birthday.
Memorial donations in Patti's name may be made to the Simon Foundation, an animal rescue and adoption center dear to her heart, at 120 Rescue Lane, Bloomfield, CT 06002.

Brad and the whole family.
I am very sorry for the loss of Patti. She was a bright light in this world. I always saw her happy. She was an avid gardener at the community garden plot. we both enjoyed Her head would always be tending to her 'babies'. Wow she had a green thumb. She also had magic dirt she would sprinkle on them with care and watch them flourish. Hers and Brad's garden always looked the healthiest. I always would see her around at different dj events she was doing. Always with a smile on her face. Even bigger when she spoke about her grandchildren whom she loved very much. It was good she could spend time with them the last few years. She was a fighter and was not going to give in. The Lord said Patti you have suffered enough rest now and join me. She is up in Heaven with the good ones that pasted before her. Tending her garden and making it fully blossom into a thing of beauty. Rest now and keep her in your hearts she was one of the kind souls put on this earth for us to have time with her. She will be missed by all her knew her.
