Ray Andarowski Obituary

Ray Andarowski
December 21, 2025
WATERTOWN- Ray Andarowski, 79, of Watertown passed away Sunday, December 21, 2025 at Apple Rehab. He was the husband of the late Ruth (Bytautas) Andarowski.
Ray was born December 30, 1945, in Waterbury to the late Felix and Anna (Berchonak) Andarowski. He attended Watertown High School and was a member of the final graduating class of the former Hemingway School, now home to Watertown's Town Hall. Following his graduation, Ray enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he served with pride as a dedicated veteran
Ray was a devoted family man who valued hard work, integrity, and kindness. He spent many years in the manufacturing industry, beginning at AMF Alcort building sailboats alongside close lifelong friends-a job he loved both on land and on the water. He later worked as a foreman in the mattress industry at Sealy in Oakville, Connecticut; Simmons Company in Jacksonville, Florida; and Gold Bond Mattress in Hartford, Connecticut, where he retired. When his sons were young, he began coaching Little League baseball. What started simply as a way to spend more time with them grew into a passion for mentoring and developing young athletes-a commitment he carried with pride for more than 20 years.
Ray's wife, Ruth, was his everything, and they were inseparable. After her passing in 2011, Ray devoted himself to his family, especially his sons and grandchildren. Watching his grandchildren grow brought him great joy, whether supporting Kiana in marching band and cheerleading or cheering on Mikaela and Nadia at softball games. He also enjoyed time with friends at the Oakville Senior Center and treasured the holidays, always choosing the perfect Hallmark card to express his feelings.
Ray is survived by his sons Shane and Scott Andarowski, his Daughter-in-Law Anna Maria Andarowski, and granddaughters Kiana, Mikaela and Nadia.
Funeral services will be held 9:30 a.m. Monday, December 29, 2025, from Hickcox Funeral Home 195 Main St., Watertown, to St. John the Evangelist Church for Mass at 10 a.m. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum at Mount Olivet Cemetery, 669 Platt Rd., Watertown. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday morning from 8:30-9:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Ray's name to the Watertown Senior Center 311 Falls Ave. Oakville, CT 06779.
