Robert B. Fields, 75, of Waterbury, Connecticut, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on November 14, 2025.
Born on May 2, 1950, in Montgomery, Alabama, Robert was the son of Essie B. Fields and Robert Fields Sr., both who preceded him. Both parents instilled in him the values of hard work, humility, and family devotion. Robert built a life grounded in love, perseverance, and integrity. He was a graduate of Kennedy High School class of 1969.
Robert was a dedicated Laborer with Union 611, where he was known for his strong work ethic, loyalty, and camaraderie. He took great pride in his trade and the lifelong friendships he formed among his brothers and sisters in the labor union.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Sheryl Y. Fields of 45 years, of Waterbury, CT; Cameron Fields and his wife Anna Fields, Robert Fields and his wife Catherine Fields of Waterbury, CT, Myles LaBarre of Naugatuck, CT, Monica Fields-McBride of Waterbury, Mollie LaBarre of New Orleans, LA, two sisters-in-law, and he also leaves behind his adored grandchildren, Makhiya McBride, DeLontè McBride, and Robert Fields IV, and a host of nieces and nephews who brought him endless joy and pride.
Robert will be remembered for his quiet strength, sharp humor, and steadfast faith. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, he was the cornerstone of his family, always willing to lend a hand, share a story, or offer wisdom to those who sought his counsel.
In his leisure time, Robert enjoyed music, family gatherings, and simple moments spent with those he loved most. His warmth, kindness, and unwavering love for his family will be deeply missed but forever cherished.
Arrangements: Funeral services will be private, reserved for family and close friends. The Fields family sincerely thanks everyone for their kind words, prayers, and support during this time of loss.
